Love Single Malt? New to Scotch? All are welcome!

Scotch drinkers will tell you that there’s no finer, purer, more complexly beautiful whisky in the world than Scottish single malt.

They’ve got a point.

It’s also one of the most daunting liquors for beginners. From the regions of production, to age statements, to barrel finishes and vintages…the world of Scotch can seem impenetrable. The John Barleycorn Single Malt Society seeks to demystify the world of Scotch, and hopefully teach the initiated a thing or two.

The Details

Each meeting of the John Barleycorn Single Malt Society will be focused around a specific whisky-based activity, ranging from whisky 101 classes, to guest lectures with single malt experts, to brand activations from top whisky producers!

Each meeting will be a separately ticketed event and will begin with a social hour to get to know your fellow whiskey fans. The price of admission will include:

- The evening’s pre-selected tasting flight
- A welcome cocktail and charcuterie & crudite board
- Your choice of 2 entrees exclusively designed for the society by Chef Barney Jake
- A Glencairn tasting glass from the Bruichladdich Distillery (one per member, while supplies last)

Sunday, August 25th, @ 6pm:“Understanding Scotch”

Our next meeting will be a deep dive into what makes single malt Scotch whisky so special! We’ll explore the regions of production, talk taste profiles, and taste some truly delicious whisky!
